Here is a guy that I admire for his comic roles and for what he did for the troops in so many locations. Certainly a most charitable Guy.

I didn’t get to see him in my 4 short years in the AF, but maybe some of you have.

Got any stories?

Mornin' plum. Bob was one of the funniest comedians that I have known. There are so many comedians around today, that I do not even pay attention to any of them.

Thank you plum, and have a great day.

Morin Fg. You are so right on the numerous amount of comedians these days. Problem is a lack of good comedians.

Most have to input vulgarity thinking that is funny. They are no comparison to those in the past like Bob Hope.

My fav these days would be Jeff Dunham.

Saw Bob Hope at Ft. Leonard Wood in in 1968 they marched us there 4 hrs early and then had to wait in another field while the place for the show filled up and we wound up so far away we could barely see him and couldn't here him turned into a miserable day

Oh i remember those marches. Never did have a good out come no matter where they lead.

I guess you had to be on somebodies good side to get a better seat.

Anybody who would spend EVERY Christmas on the road entertaining the guys and girls overseas has my vote as man of a lifetime.

I saw him in Berlin in 1970. The best part of the show was when the cameras were off. He had a quick wit but by the standard back then he was too risque for TV in 1970. I found myself waiting for the "commercial breaks" so I could enjoy the comedy. The show was in a large theater and I was in the back row of the upper balcony. I couldn't see him but the sound was good. I agree with Flytier man of the century in my book.

Amazing how as mentioned comedy today is definitely not for kids. It wasn't needed before. Some at times but not every other word. I liked George Carlin 😂

Mine was Rodney Dangerfield,
with Jeff Dunham running a close second ! As a kid I never liked ventriloquist acts, but the first time
I watched a Jeff Dunham routine, I nearly peed myself laughing !

Robin Williams would bust by stiches as the saying goes.

Richard Pryor went down hill fast.

Bill Murray running 3rd for my list.

Yep ! Robin was a very funny man !
One of his best/funniest routines
(to me) was the one about a Scotsman inventing the game
of golf ! I'm pretty sure you can
still find it on YouTube ! It's just
freakin' hilarious !
