Bass caught on normal spinner. Top blade, chrome, willow leaf shape, black skirt. Black and white are my goto colors.

Very Nice Jedi, No one likes a Skunk 🤣😆

No kidding. After multiple weeks of nothing you start talking to yourself. I don’t usually catch a limit, but at least one plus two pounds.

Nice to finally get rid of the skunk, congratulations Jwid! September's a tough month for bass around here too. Fall transition's close though--can't wait to be throwing cranks and jerks again.🎣🎣🎣

I own the property next to the dam. 60 acre lake with 13 property owners on my side of the lake. Someone else was taking care of the lake issues. I volunteered and took over. Lake needs to be drained down about every three years to freeze out weed growth and allow us to maintain our individual shorelines. Wasn’t happening as it needed to so I’m the guy now. I’ll open the valve and it is up to Mother Nature to let it get down and freeze a couple of times this winter. In the spring a couple good rains over the 77 square miles of watershed into the creek will fill it. Lakes need maintenance. It is a 110 year old lake. Oldest manmade lake in Missouri. Trying to find a way to do some dredging and valve maintenance.

Google view of last time it was drained. Arrow points to my old dock.

Thanks for the info... My father "had bought" a house on a 15-acre "millpond", when I was about to enter 9th grade... The dam was on our property and it was up to him, to remove or add boards in the spillway. (No valves involved)... Either way he tried to "slice it"; he couldn't seem to EVERYBODY "happy", at certain times of year.

I get that. “Happy”. I am not happy about doing it. I like winter fishing. What I am not doing is a chemical treatment. No way. Carp can’t do it either. Draining and freezing can work. The lake is 29 feet deep by the dam. Some other areas are 15 feet so there will be a place for the fish to go.

I like your attitude about the chemical treatment... No telling what kind of a "Jeanie's bottle" yer liable to open, doing THAT.
