Fishing was not cheap even back then, $1.00 was a worth while chunk of change. I just looked it up and a Ford factory worker averaged $.10 per hour. That's $10.00 for a 10 hour day. Even at todays min. wage pay, that is still over $100 comparative for a license.

$1 is equal to about $16 today. Not too bad for a fishing license. I would frame it and keep it in the family!

Very cool Jwid. Thanks for sharing that with us. Are you going to laminate it?

I'd put it with an old picture of him and hang it on the wall

This just turned up in some family documents. I thought it might be interesting for others since I thought it was pretty cool. Wifeโ€™s great grandfather passed in 1927. This license was in his wallet.

Now that is a very cool license! Never even thought about one not being on some sort of "paper". Great keepsake and sign of the old times in days gone by!

Awesome. A buck and Iโ€™ll bet he could fish whenever he wanted and keep fish back then too. Iโ€™m way younger than that and I can remember my first hunting license in Wyoming. We didnโ€™t have a fishing license. Fishing came with a hunting license and you didnโ€™t need anything till you were 16. $5.00 bought me a hunting license that covered fishing year round, a deer tag, an elk tag, antelope tag, bear tag and a mountain lion tag. It cost an addition $.50 for an upland game bird license and another $.50 for water foul. So 6 bucks got me a tag for anything I wanted Hunt or fish for in Wyoming back then. Plus I could shoot a buck or a doe of the deer and antelope species and either a bull or cow elk. We actually had to apply for a moose or a big horn sheep tag. I applied for both but never got one of those. Must have been 1970 or 1971.
Awesome. A buck and Iโ€™ll bet he could fish wheneve... (show quote)

Not a math problem, a typing problem.

Hey Gordon,
Are you familiar with Steven Furtick from Moncks Corner? I notice that is where your grandpaโ€™s license came from.
