Looks to me like an Eastern Diamondback, but a relatively small one, as they are generally the largest of the rattlers in this country ! Since
I can't see the head, it's hard to distinguish one from the other !

Oops ! Just zoomed in for a second look and found the rattles, so it IS
a diamondback !

Think its a timber rattler,the eastern are on the federally threatened list, I think

What does a better job than shoes or boots is a fully engaged, blade turning, riding lawn mower. It really puts the bite on them!!
