Spent a couple hours below the dam. These two LMB came in at 2.53 and 2.69. The other 6 were less than two pounds. Hula popper and whopper popper scored the bigger fish. Smaller ones caught deeper. No weeds here frog wouldn’t get a hit even though it has the same coloring as the Hula P.

Nice bass Jwid! That must've been a snap hookset on that hula popper to be barely hanging on to that lower lip!

That was one tuff lip. Fish below the dam have a lot of oxygen in the water and fight twice their weight class. This one gabbed the bait right after the hula popper came floating out of the current of the water off the dam and jumped clear out the the water. I knew what I had on the line instantly. Water is clear so I could see every move as it tried to get to a rock ledge. 8.5 to 1 ratio came in handy as I tried to keep this fish clear of snags. The hook slipped out easily once in took the tension off to remove. I was amazed at how little lip was holding. Thanks.

Thanks Hack. Fortunate to have water overflowing the dam regularly. I wish the same for all of the low water reservoirs I see out west. Here is a little more of my favorite fishing hole.
Oldest man made dam in Missouri. Dates to 1910. That is to form a lake. Smaller ones formed ponds for mills and mines.
