In step with the current topic, here's
a short 'dissertation' on Real Men !
(Tongue-in-cheek, kids !)

American men are all mixed-up
today ..... there was a time when
this was a nation of Ernest Hemingways - REAL MEN ! The
kindof men who could defoliate
an entire forest to make a break-
fast fire - and then wipe out an endangered specieswhile hunting
for lunch !

But not any more ! We've (not us -
next generation) become a nation
of wimps ! Pansies ! Alan Alda types
who cook and clean and relate to
their wives ! Phil Donahue clones
who are 'sensitive' and 'vulnerable'
and understanding of their
children !

And where's it gotten us ? I'll tell you where ! The Japanese make better cars ! The Israelis make better
soldiers ! And the rest of the world
is using our embassies for target practice !

(Excerpted from book -
'Real Men Don't Eat Quiche !')
In step with the current topic, here's br a short... (show quote)

Wow Big A that ABOUT says it all don't it to bad the teachers today don't give the kids the real truth no wonder their confused and video games only make them lazy no wonder robotics are taking over the work force they even have robots that will make you a pizza that's a kick in the uneducated workers you know what no wonder the world's going to heck in a handbasket And as far as the Japanese are they are not afraid of work they just figure easier ways to get things done and they aren't to bad at fishing either are they I think I read something about a Japanese girl now holding the Largemouth world record I couldCry

They HAVE turned out some good, high quality electronics, over the years. (Not to even get into their fairly high quality motor vehicles.) {My apologies, to all I've known, who either do or DID work for Ford or Chevy.} [We've got a WHOLE charge of 'em, in this neck'o the woods!]

Unfortunately, word got out in just
a few days - I don't think he got
more than 4 or 5 days, but he
made about fifty bucks before
his dad got wind of it - if I
remember right, I think his dad charged him for half the bottle,
but he still came out ahead !

True, fishing IS for all, but there's nothing wrong with rooting for the 'home team' - back up/root for your own people first !

Of course. No question about that. But let’s not hate. Let’s innovate

Sorry ! My attitude is - "BE American; BUY American ! I have owned over
two dozen vehicles in the last
52 years - only two were imports -
had very little choice for either one
at time of purchase ! All my other
cars/trucks were American-made,
and admittedly, a few of those were 'dogs', but I'll never own another import (or another Ford) - three of
those 'dogs' were Ford products !

As far as bikes go, if I could afford
one and wasn't nervous about dropping it due to a sciatica attack
at a stop sign or light, I'd be driving
a Harley - no 'rice-rockets' for me !
More concerned with long-haul comfort than speed - that said, it would still be driven at a good clip !

Both my younger brothers owned
nearly identical bikes - both were Harley-Davidson Heritage Soft-tail Classics - one blue, one black,
both beautiful ! Even if I could
afford one, this area is just too dangerous for bikes ! There are hit-and-run accidents here constantly, and many victims were either riding
a bike or motorcycle !

Sorry you can’t ride anymore. I drive a Ford truck. My wove drives a Kia. She rides a Harley I ride a Kawasaki. This is what makes Americans great. We have and are allowed the freedom of choice.

Yes, you do have a choice, but I see
it more as a loyalty issue ! Your own family, friends, neighborhood,
country should be your first priority - supporting our country by buying
home-built (U.S.A) products first !

I grew up with five younger siblings
(only three left, now) - they all drive
imports and question why I drive 'boats' (my '79 Olds Custom Cruiser
and my '79 Grand Marquis were real
'Land Yachts') ? Because to me,
bigger is safer, and a whole lot roomier/more comfortable ! I've
been in accidents that I probably wouldn't have survived in a small
car ! Mid-size or bigger, please !

Yeah, I gotchya, BigA... I'd probably ran through that amount of motor vehicles myself, in only about 30(ish) years of driving... Only 1× "Audi" (which only lasted a couple of weeks... My fault... Me and John Damn Barleycorn... Not Audi's fault) and the 1 motorcycle I'd bought (brand-damn-new) was a Triumph... (I caught hell, left and right about THAT, outta SOME folks.) It was a "Bonneville 750", which was actually powered by a 45 cubic inch engine... It was a "Limited Edition" called a "Silver Jubilee"; (helluva nice paint job) which was to celebrate "Queen Elizabeth's being Queen for 25 years"... A 1977 year/ model; purchased in 1978, if I recall properly. It's speedometer went to 150mph; so, I figured: ¿What the Hell?... Damn thing took to vibrating in a SCARY FASHION at ~ a buck-20.
I owned 3× Mopars and came to recognize, that they were TRYING TO WARN me; that I would be down at NAPA every Saturday, looking to BUY MO PARTS!! Oh WELL...
All the rest were Chevys and Fords... I'm probably leaning towards General Motors, as far as "wrenching on'em" goes. (I guess I probably owned a few more Chevys, than Fords.)

Because your an American. You have those choices. I am sorry to hear the issues you’ve had to deal with in life. We all got them. But I am confident you will over come these and find some peace in your like. Good luck. My fellow AMERICAN
