Ol' Feller, as a Squid, you are expected to address Marines as 'Sir' or 'Mr. Jarhead'.

BadBobby, aka 'BB', is an American treasure.

I'm pretty much on the same page, my 1st car was a 1963 Buick Riviera/ a 401... Ran like a scalded dog... Yes, Pontiac was in the mix, but no Oldsmobile (always liked'em, tho)... Had good and bad luck, with the whole bunch of them... Never have I owned (or even been paying on) a new car.
I neglected to make mention of the Fords, "in the mix"... I had a '67 Mustang/ a straight 200, that was CERTAINLY "hard to kill" (...But;,,, I managed to), also had an F-150, I believe it was; that lasted all of about a week (if THAT); I also drove an "LTD-2" for a short handful of years; but, MAN was that one "Mighty 351",!!!... Good phookin' car... Sweet phookin' ride... Ran like a scalded dog!

(Only thing is... That ain't no "Model A"; is it?))
Had the GM version of that, BB...minus the "powerful" engine, a 1939 Cadillac 62S. "Kissing" doors, running boards twice as wide as your Lincoln's. Steady 8-9 mpg from the 346 flathead V-8, "3-on-the-tree" !
But oh, what a ride.
Mohair upholstery, so just wear corduroy pants and no need for seatbelts ! (don't think Velcro was even in anybody's mind at the time, but maybe it WAS in the inventor's, if he had experienced the combo , who knows ?)
Backseat so wide, I TRIPLE DATED in it, more than once.
Beat out a Porsche 911Targa, a GTO Judge, a Hemi-Cuda, and my tennis doubles-partner's Mach 1, for my high school's "Cougar Cool Car of the Year", back in '71 at Shawnee Mission Northwest.
Since it was a 6-volt system and ran down easily, it was a good thing it had manual tranny so it could be "jump-started" easily.... the thing weighed in excess of 6200lbs ! My older siblings used to quip that it "usually gets around 12 miles to the battery".
Sold it about 15 years after acquisition, when I moved to Oregon..... for just shy of 20 times the price I paid initially ($775)..... best return on a vehicle purchase, ever.
Wish I had it back to drive to my 50th H.S. reunion in November... that would blow some minds, to be sure.
Aaaah....car memories.............and then there was the time that our fraternity pledge class was supposed to show "unity"......so all 26 of us showed up at the Kappa Sigma house, in & on my car... ONLY !

Never tried that many, but I believe that we actually squeezed a dozen people in my VW 'Bug' one time and cruised the main drag on Saturday night ! My younger brother was
about 14 at the time and we had
him stuffed in the trunk - you should have seen this lady at the traffic light when he was kicking and screaming
to get out - "Harold, they've got someone locked in their trunk !" - He just looked over at me and started laughing ! I think his wife was incensed that he didn't say or do anything about it - by the look on
her face, she probably blew a gasket
over it ! Man, that look would have curdled fresh milk !
