Well 4, its not quite a pie but vanilla ice cream will go just as good on what i just pulled out of the oven. Wife doesn't get home till 7, so this is the before pic.

Beautiful cobbler Plum, but I found a mistake on the recipe. It says makes 6 servings, NOT IN MY WORLD! 2 ,,,, if I'm feeling generous.

Not so fast. Cold glass of milk and a fresh out of the oven sweet potato pecan pie.

C'mon, Four ! You're killin' me
here ! You're killin' me !

That sweet potato pecan pie the
chaser for the seafood Γ©touffΓ©e
and crawfish pie ?

(Where's my beer ? I'm gonna
need a beer to wash down all
this heavenly Cajun cuisine !)

Mean would be a pic of 4 eating the last piece of that chocolate sweet potato pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and didn't save us any.

You're lucky you didn't grow up
at our house ! Our 'grace' went something like - "He who eats
fastest gets the most !"

If you weren't quick enough getting
your food, you could quickly and
easily wind up with fork-tine scars
in the back of your hand ! (OUCH !)

1st wife had 3 sisters and 2 brothers back in our high school days. I once took 8 rabbits all cleaned and ready to be divided up when her mom prepared them for dinner. For the 9 of us quite the meal to be had.

Come dinner time no one was allowed to talk and it was like you say a real feeding frenzy and better watch your hands when you go for the thighs.

By dinners end not a bone on the table that had an ounce of meat upon it. Oh and for that no talking at the dinner table. That rule went out the window when i spoke up. I got the look from the old man and that is all it took for someone to break the ice.

I guess that is why he didn't like me much. Oh well!!!!

You do the same Andy. I most likely not going out this week. Got a day or 2 to go into the office, striper ban till August, and way to warm yet for me to stay out there past 10 am. So just waiting it out.

Plum.... I used to think the same thing about my Dad until he told me different on his death bed. I was shocked. I think it was more common for men from that generation to express their feelings. All the war, depression and what not taught them to be hard. And for their loved ones to survive he needed to teach them to be hard. Just my thinking, it could be full of beans
