Grizz, we have a lot in common in the way we were raised, but we have more in common with the loss of a child. I was pretty hard on my son Kyle because I wanted him to grow up to be a responsible family man. I was pretty rough on all four of my kids. They called me “sarge”. In November 1994 he was hit head on by an old Ford Fairlane car. He was in a Toyota. He died on impact and so did a mother and grandmother in the Ford. He was 20. He would have been 47 this year. There was a seven year old girl asleep in the back seat of the Ford. My son fell asleep at the wheel. I wish I could have him here all the time and the time I did have with him I feel like I wasted that time. I am so sorry you lost a daughter just four years ago. It ain’t easy and we live with it everyday, but one day we’ll be together again and that’s what keeps me going. God Bless you and your family Brother.

Hi Hack. I'm feel your pain brother. I thought at the time i was doing the right thing. Make them tough so nobody could hurt them. I spent so much time working when the kids was little. I wouldn't take welfare or handouts. I had my wife raise them. No outside child care. Other members have loss children. The one thing no parent ever wants. You're right we will never forget them. Michelle passed on April 15th n I'll never forget. Now i try to encourage young parents to spend evey minute they can with the kids. They grow up so fast. I encourage grandparents to spend every minute with the grandkids. I miss those growing yrs. So many memories of sporting events fishing hunting. You know what i mean friend. FS is so much more than fishing to me n i think to others. Bet they never though it would get this big. Fishing is a common luv but many of us have more things in common that. Never in my life did i think I'd feel connected to men n women from all over the USA. Stay safe Hack enjoy life brother 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🗽🗽🗽

Made it down to Zoar for a few hours this morning. Was partly cloudy an 76°@7:30 at the ramp, water at the ramp only 72°. Very slow start, only Rocky nibblers in my 1st 2 spots. Water level was surprisingly normal, but it was filthy. Muddy in places, lots of shreaded weeds and wood floating everywhere. Open hook baits were out, 2or3 cranks and you're dragging junk. Tried a deeper shady bank and got a decent Smallie and a couple featherweight Largemouth. Ran down to the south end and the water was much warmer, but not that active. Got bit off after a Heavy Bite, probably Pike or a Tiger Muskie washed down from Lillinonah last week. Also missed 1large Bass that threw a worm hook after a good run, taking 20yds of line before getting off.
Final score 1 Smallmouth 1.5lbs, 5 junior Largemouth,3 over a pound. Made it home before the Thunderstorms.

Very Nice Fred, glad you got out and had some fun, and didn’t get drenched. Nice Fish

Yup, I carried on what I learned from my Dad except for the beatings. I'll never forget at the end when he told how proud he was that I stopped that transmission. Today, I'm a different man with my grandchildren and it has helped promote a lot of healing with my kids. God bless those who have lost children and thank you for having the courage to remind me how lucky I am.
Want you all to know Fred would love to be participating but Admin has kicked him off his own post for political comments.
