Made it down to Zoar for a few hours this morning. Was partly cloudy an 76Β°@7:30 at the ramp, water at the ramp only 72Β°. Very slow start, only Rocky nibblers in my 1st 2 spots. Water level was surprisingly normal, but it was filthy. Muddy in places, lots of shreaded weeds and wood floating everywhere. Open hook baits were out, 2or3 cranks and you're dragging junk. Tried a deeper shady bank and got a decent Smallie and a couple featherweight Largemouth. Ran down to the south end and the water was much warmer, but not that active. Got bit off after a Heavy Bite, probably Pike or a Tiger Muskie washed down from Lillinonah last week. Also missed 1large Bass that threw a worm hook after a good run, taking 20yds of line before getting off.
Final score 1 Smallmouth 1.5lbs, 5 junior Largemouth,3 over a pound. Made it home before the Thunderstorms.

Thanks Matt, the last couple weeks have been mostly smaller fish. Hopefully the big girls are rested up and will be back on the feed soon. There was a club tournament at Zoar today, and I overheard that the big fish of the day was only 3lbs even. I feel better now, in my little aluminum boat, when I see guys with 20,21 foot Rangers, Skeeters, and Vexus's, only catching a few. Be safe out there, and Tight Lines.

Thanks Plum, but I've got a long way to go to even see their taillights. I'm just happy there's been no Skunks this year. How is your exploring new areas going? Find any Honeyholes yet? Good luck and keep looking.

It hasn't been too hot here Bobby, 80s and 90s, but the humidity has been brutal.90+% a lot of the time, and rain showers and storms every other day.

Gmorn Fred. At least you got out for awhile brother. Storms hit here early eve. Hung around for awhile. We got the early warning about it. Severe storm heading east at 35 now approaching greencastle a small town 11miles west. Told Bug we have a few minutes. Plenty of rain but no wind damage. The rivers will be trashed again. Y'all have a good day friend. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸŽ£
