They do let water out but not like the other lakes. It is a drinking water Res 🚰. It is a shallow Res. And with you boat you have to watch the depth of the water. They stock it with Trout and I have caught some nice ones !!
And it is not fished that hard. You can drive around 3/4 of the Res.
I enjoy fishing the lake it is about 30 to 45min from where I live in Modesto.
It is a hidden fishery.
I'd be glad to meet you their some time . Never fished for cats there but I'm sure they are there. Have caught Blue gills and 1crappie at the lake.
Have a good day
Andy

If you're still talking about Pine
Mtn. Lake, there are no 'cats' listed
for it ! The fishing page I referred to listed LM bass, rainbow trout,
crappie, bluegills and red-ear sunfish !

I was talking about Modesto Res this is nice body of water to fish and is not fished real hard. And have caught nice fish there from trout and both species of bass largest large mouth went 6lbs. And a Smallmouth that went 2lbs.
Have a good and great fishing when you go out

In my phone, which is my only computer ! I ask for any location
by name, along with which fish species are in that lake, and I usually get several responses ! One specific website that has plenty of info by state, location, lake, and fish species
is All About Fishing (aafishing.com) !

Sorry ! May have misunderstood
or mis-read the post ! (I'm so confused !)

Modesto Reservoir has rainbows,
largemouths, channel 'cats', bluegills
and red-ear sunfish !

(Hope that's cleared up !)

A piece of black olive does look like a black bug

I imagine the smell and taste of a black olive would be interesting to them too.
