Mine has been gone 21 years today. Lost him on fathers day 2000. It was also his 75th birtday. He taught me everything in life. And how to fish.

Dad died 24 years ago, and it still feels like an open wound. He was 200 pounds of spring steel and rawhide, and still a very gentle man. Happy Fathers day, all you Dads!

It's nice to read all the touching stories about father son relationship. Sadly many grew up with no dad or one that was just the man in the house never a dad. Some was lucky enough to had a grandfather to help them. That's way i tried to be a good dad n a better grandfather. My pap passed many yrs ago but i still miss him. The house he lived in where i was a kid is on the other side of town. I ride by now n then just because. Bless all the great dads n granddads πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

My first marriage was miserable and she didn't like my parents but used them often to babysit. She passed and then my dad passed while I was dating my current wife. I wish he could see me now. I'm happy and dad would be too. Mom is still here at 94.

I'm sure he knows Mist. I've known way too many that do that crap. Let others raise their kids then take credit when they turn out good. You're happy now that's all that matters brother. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

Thanks and great post GW and for a very deserving man. Lost my dad on Christmas Day twelve years ago. I still talk to him when I’m working but mostly when I’m fishing, wishing he was with me. Happy Father’s Day to all you stagers out there.

BB, my father has been gone along time. I know you don't know me but I'm hoping you will serve as my adopted FS Father at least for Father's Day. I would be honored and humbled.

Thanks,
ghaynes1

Most kids don’t see much of their dad, because he’s trying to put food on the table. Being a grandpa is another story. I love watching them grow, and it happens all to quickly. Happy Father’s Day.

Very true Dakota. I never really got to know my dad very well, for that very reason. My mom's dad on the other hand was a different story. He was everything anyone could ever want in a father. I miss them both, but it's hard to miss someone you never really knew. Know what I mean? Happy Father's Day dad. And grampa. Grampa over 50 years gone. Dad nearly 40.

So what's anybody eating on F day? I'm in the process of smoking a pork picnic roast for pulled pork and I'm gonna do some chicken tomorrow. Girls are bringing sides and deserts. Anyway that's the plan.

Wullfy started this for bb. Happy Father's Day bobby! Come on over and eat some pork. I got some jd in the cabinet and I ain't that desperate that I would drink it.

New York strips, baked taters, pork and beans with hickory smoked bacon and Cajun sausage, sensation salad and strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. Paw in law will be happy.
