It’s a Bar Jack.
Some say they’re a bait fish. I think they’re delicious. The meat is very dark red but taste great fried. Lots of meat for the size. Great fighters.

If you are in a boat wouldt you attempt to chase it down and get some line back eventually the fish is going to get tired enough and you're going to catch him I've chased a blue fin down 13 mi from our Anchor Point according to the GPS three and a half hours but we got him 280 lb fish on 20 lb test

Great job, think you were luckier than me. Chased a Black Marlin (est. 1000 pounder) for 2 1/2 hours, 8 miles and lost it. This in the middle of an oncoming Chubasco. Capt. was really glad we lost it.
