Thanks OBG I got a black back in October of 96 we estimated him about 180 maybe two hundred little guy found him sleeping about 20 miles off San Clemente through a live mackerel right on his bill the fight was on got them to the boat got the hook out of them and off he went

Great catch Al. Have caught a few stripe marlin in that area. Got one 3 miles outside of Dana harbor. They were all in the 100 lb category. Biggest black landed was a 620 in Hawaii on my dad's boat. The grander we lost was in Mexico. Saw him jump twice close to the boat and then he sounded.
