I don’t bother with shark, very often too much of an ammonia smell/taste.
Dolphin (yuppies say Mahi mahi), snapper, flounder, sea trout,….. so many good ones.

I enjoyed fishing on the pier. Not going out because the fish is small. I fish for croaker and spots. Good Luck on whatever you're fishing

Fish Smith Mountain Lake, Stripers, looking at buying a good Fishfinders. Right now troll boards, light lines and down lines. Would like to mark some fish, the 2 Fishdinders Ihave are not accurate. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS would be appreciated.

A coworker of mine went last week, he hasn't said a word about it so I don't think it was worth talking about. I'll ask him today though.

Don't you know nobody ever catches anything off of any pier except bait stingrays and sharks at night. If the fishing is good most pier fishermen want to keep that info to themselves so the pier doesn't get overcrowded. Remember all fishermen are liars lol. That being said I haven't fished buckroe yet so I don't know for sure.

I wonder too, but mostly wonder what you’ve been trying for. I would think sea trout be good. I’d really like find out too, how the crabbing is.

In all honesty I generally fish ocean view or va. Beach piers. While I'm trying to catch cobia I haven't had any luck yet. I did see a few before the season started on June 15th but they seem to have moved on for the moment. I have caught several big cow nosed rays and a few sharks the largest of which was about 3 feet. I also caught my first Spanish mackerel off the va. Beach pier and a few gray and speckled trout off both piers but they are few and far between. Of course the spot and croaker are always around but most are on the small side.
