Never been up there, but it's on the list. Had to google it, I had no idea where it's at. I saw pictures of lava tubes. Ever go in one of those? Spelunking is not for me. Bury me at sea please. So where are your favorite trout fishing spots on earth? You can share, we won't tell anyone. And how about some photos?

It’s about an hour from Redding…
Relatively short stream…most of it runs along the highway but there are some good spots to fish…
At one point the stream leaves the road and runs about 3 miles before coming back…
If you don’t mind a little hike there are some outstanding spots…
There is also a wild trout (catch and release) stretch closer to burney…
Nearby is good fishing in burney creek and Fall River…

Love going there and sitting on the Bluff. You can see it all. The fisherman, his fly and the trout staring that fly down. It's so cool when he goes for it and sucks that fly down. Some nice sized trout in Hat Creek for sure. I believe it was 1973 the first time I went. A huge restoration project was completed the previous year or so.

Blend of planted and native rainbow as well as native browns…
Definitely some big fish, too…
I’ve caught and released some as large as 4 and 5 pounds…

Sounds wonderful, but I'm afraid my stream fishing days are behind me unless things improve. Not that steady on my feet any more. There are a couple I know of with relatively easy access, but not many.

There some accessible small lakes, such as Baum lake at the crystal springs hatchery and a few others…
Good luck…

there are folks down in your direction much more familiar with the lakes in your area than I am. If no one shows up on here to help, try doing a separate post. Welcome to the stage mission and let us know how you do. Photos please!

Just quit sending water to LA and there would be plenty of water for the fish and the farmers.
