Yeah, I used to write down my numbers (LORAN), every time I'd make any kind of a course alteration, while on wheelwatch. (Hell, I'd even make note of the depth of water, if it seemed to be "unexpectedly" growing deeper or shallower.) ... My Father taught me how to find the North Star, at a very young age; as well as ¿What good does that do me? {Was explained also.} (I "picked up" a second way to locate Polaris, while on wheelwatch, in the late 1980's.)
