Ya b, they are only scheduled to stock 11600 this year in the Bull Shoals tailwaters and that will be in July.

Ya b, that's why it is so special catching them in the Bull Shoals tailwaters as they won't stock until July again and they only plan to put 11600 brookies in at that time.

Got this in a stream that is not stocked due to its designation as wild trout waters. It’s about 10 miles from the nearest stocked stream, It has lots of native brook trout but I’ve never caught one this size. I know that rainbows/steelhead do some serious traveling but not sure how migratory brookies are.I believe this guy must have migrated a long way from stocked waters due to size and body(very slim). Your thoughts

Nice carnevore you got there. Slim because its a male most likely. Huge mouth, bet lots of smaller fish went down that gullet.

Did not measured it nor weigh, actually got a bit stressed over taking its picture out of the water and wanted to get it back is ASAP.

It'll be fine. Looked like an old hen that just got rid of a bunch of eggs.

Being from n.e. Pa. myself i never caught a brookie that long and thin. Doesn't look like a stockie either. I'd say you got a rare one there buddy.

My thought, bk, is; I would mount that puppy. That is a beautiful Brookie. I think the slim body and the large head indicates that it may be a male, but it doesn't have a hooked lower jaw, so, Idk. Did you put it in a frying pan?

That is a massive brook trout, although skinny. Have only seen a few that size here in Oregon. Well done.
