Got this in a stream that is not stocked due to its designation as wild trout waters. It’s about 10 miles from the nearest stocked stream, It has lots of native brook trout but I’ve never caught one this size. I know that rainbows/steelhead do some serious traveling but not sure how migratory brookies are.I believe this guy must have migrated a long way from stocked waters due to size and body(very slim). Nice fish b. I personally have never seen one that big. Here where I fish, a 15 incher is a monster. I hear rumors of lakes that hold 4 or 5 pounders, but I haven't found one yet. Thanks for the photo.

Beautiful fish BK, I know nothing about Brook Trout except what my Trout buddies tell me. I've never seen one bigger than 1.5-2lbs here.

E pa. Al, didn’t weigh it, I’m guessing maybe around 3 lbs. or so. It was a skinny fish.

Ive seen pictures of monster brookies from Labrador and other such areas years ago in the outdoor magazines but I have never seen a personal pic of one that big. Great catch b......

Have caught many that size in creeks that feed stocked ponds on a golf course. They all have long thin bodies and tend to migrate up streams.
