NH trout Loc: West central NH

I’ve caught a few two footers here in NH but I’ve caught them in remote walk in ponds. Sure is fun watching them slice through clear water.
Nice catch

Got this in a stream that is not stocked due to its designation as wild trout waters. It’s about 10 miles from the nearest stocked stream, It has lots of native brook trout but I’ve never caught one this size. I know that rainbows/steelhead do some serious traveling but not sure how migratory brookies are.I believe this guy must have migrated a long way from stocked waters due to size and body(very slim). Your thoughts

Check out how perfect the fins are. This fish did not come out of a Hatchery.

Well if it did, it was years ago. That fish is a survivor - til it met you. Did you release it or eat it? My opinion, brookies are the best eating of those types of fish - salmons, trouts and chars. Course I've never eaten one that big.

Living in Northern NJ, that is one big fish! I fish some NE PA and that is bigger than anything I or any of my buddies have caught.

Hey b, that is a gorgeous fish. I have been lucky enough to catch a couple around 12-13" and several 5-8" in the Bull Shoals tailwaters and Norfolk tailwaters. My daughter caught 2 small brookies on the White last fall within 24 hours of each other. It was a thrill even though they were small.

I reluctantly released it but I did take a few 11-13 inchers for supper

Very nice fish, bit hard to tell how big it is with your hands being the only reference, but a fish anyone would be proud to catch

Beautiful fish BK, I know nothing about Brook Trout except what my Trout buddies tell me. I've never seen one bigger than 1.5-2lbs here.
