How to Circumvent the Ammo Shortage!

My take on the ammo shortage is that I agree with Spirit...it is due to C***D and that ammo manufacturers were not deemed essential businesses. It is disturbing to see empty shelves in the gun department, but it is what it is. It will be available soon enough, but the prices will undoubtably be higher than before to make up for lost profits due to the p******c.

I think it is CV as well as hoarding. Every time Dem the same thing t***spires as well as the tactic of trying to convince everyone that they will be at your door. A****a is not the Govt though. I am not scared.

Hoarding is also a huge problem, yes.

Well, it easily could be a combination of things, C***d, hording, state and federal intervention, but you have to protect your own interests! I have begun seeking to personally acquire loading equipment. I used to own all that but somehow it got lost in a move and I never replaced it. I was loading .38 S & W, .243 Winchester, .30-06, .45 Colt, an perhaps a few others that i no longer remember.

If you are a lot younger, have a circle of like minded friends, I suggest you think about forming a club, then either stock up on a mutual supply of ammo, and a set of loading equipment for the future. You will benefit by having a supply source for shooting at a much cheaper price, it will also improve your accuracy.

For example, I had a Sako .243 that would touch the first two rounds, and the third shot would walk a little due to the barrel getting hot, but would be with in less than 1/2 inch of the first two.

Next, I had a .357 S. & W. with an 8 3/8 inch barrel that with special loads, a 1 1/2 power scope, bench rest, i shot a 6 3/4 inch group of 5 shots at 100 yards. Talk about being surprised, that amazed me. Just Sayin...RJS

You sound like me Robert. Better to be prepared and not need it than to be ill prepared when the shooting starts.

Since we're already in the attic, I might as well throw my 2¢ your way on this "tread lightly, if you go" thread. Sorry, gonna clomp on in with my boots.
I don't own any guns, never have, have no future plans to. I was also a Concientious Objector, given the "1-A-O" status on my draft card, in the fall of 1972...proud of my choice then, even more so today. Have no reason to own a gun, don't ever plan to k**l anyone nor do I find the sport of hunting enticing.
I know you'll say "no one plans on k*****g anyone, but you need to have "protection", don't you ?" ..... How'd that work out for the Methodist minister (a minister ?....are you 'effin kidding me ?....my Daddy is rolling in his grave, pissed that anyone of his profession, particularly of his very denomination would be armed in a church...God's House.) in YOUR own state, RJS, just this past week. Had he NOT had a gun, he likely would still be preaching, instead of being another blatant as hell cautionary tale. Surely didn't save HIS life to be "carrying", now did it ?? It COST him his life, and to add insult to injury, in this "cautionary tale", he is of a profession that SHOULD be adequately trained to handle, not escalate, the very situation he found himself in. My father would not have been nearly as harsh, but ask his son, and I will say.."Well, this guy obviously sucked at his chosen profession, this, his only job... TO MINISTER..., He failed his family, his congregation, his community and ultimately his faith. Might just be God "making a cull", huh ?".
This is ME saying this, certainly not words my father would have chosen...he would have been more empathetic and found a different and more soothing message.

I say .... i***ts do i***tic acts and sometimes die because of it, can't fix stupid.

And you, RJS, should be praising the good Lord that you live in the most freedom-loving and freedom-allowing country in the world, because the original post that started this thread, could soooo easily be misconstrued to be a "Manifesto" for a m*****a you are forming... you spoke of the "need for ammo makers". That $#it would get you arrested in dozens of countries around the world.
But then, I am also quite certain that you do not see it that way...so be it.

It does, however, pass the sniff-test for a "preparatory call to arms"...considered an act of s******n in many circles, especially the ones you are lamenting having been recently elected to try to get this country back on a path to where we won't be waxing nostalgic about "the good 'ol days" but regaining p***e in TODAY and have enough optimistic outlook to WANT to live much longer, rather than lamenting that "it's a good thing I won't be here to see it".... that's giving up on the dream, and THAT is nothing shy of being a wussy, big-time.

BTW... ammo available in Oregon, still sell guns at the local Dick's, but no... you can no longer buy an assault rifle in Walmart.... simple wisdom, not politics.

Paranoia breeds paranoia.... write another missive like the one that you started here, and we're gonna have to choose between two new nicknames for you..."Breeder" or "Stoker".... guessing you might not care for either.

Wow, what a LOAD. I as well as many served and some gave the ultimate sacrifice so you can have this opinion. I suggest you should read up on history. your criticism of RJS is unexceptionable!

FixorFish: Yes sir, I can appreciate your concern. For the you ng minister in East Texas, it was a poor choice for him to carry a weapon and not be willing to use it! He had a choice and his choice got him k**led. He did not have to k**l his assailant. I wonder if he had any handgun training, because he could have easily shot the guy in the leg, or a lot of places to show he was serious about stopping the intruder. What he probably thought was just showing the gun would dissuade the intruder. Ministers do not make good policemen! Just Sayin...RJS

There doesn’t seem to be much of a shortage here in Idaho. I can still buy as many bricks of 22 ammo as I want at North 40 in Lewiston. Well I could a month ago anyway. Haven’t been there since.🤷‍♂️ Most of Idaho is not c***d crazy though.
