Hey guys, I'm back. Pulled in yesterday bout 5 PM. Made the drive straight through in 13 hours.
Didn't get an elk, but had a wonderful time and met some wonderful people.
I feel that I've made some new friends and look forward to goin back sometime in the future and see if we can get an elk then.
Saw some beautiful country. Loved hiking the mountains with Randy and his wife is so sweet and nice.
The pics are from Randy and Teresa's house.
What a gorgeous view and wonderful people.
There's a sniper school on that mountain in the pic and you can hear them training sometimes.
The night before I left to come home it was nearly a full moon and they were shootin at 9 pm and you could hear the shot and the gong if they hit the target. It was awesome.

Welcome home, saw1; At least you got out, to "stretch your legs" a little. ("Can't have it ALL; ALL the X"); there'll be elk there to eat, next X around! ¿Does your "Host" have some sort of an "ATV", to help get the meat home?

I believe, two of my friends just returned from that school. They learned a lot about long range shooting techniques. They are going to Utah to hunt Elk again this year. They were there last year, and there were a lot of Elk, but they often ranged at 900-1000 yards. Will see how well their new rifles and scopes work. The owner has special built rifles and Leupold scopes built just for his business.

No, we walked everywhere.
Passed up a bull that would have been about a 4 mile hike to get it out.
We would of had to make bout 3 trips to pack it all out.
That was more work than 2 old men wanted to do.
That's bout 20 miles of walkin carrying bout 100 pounds each, each trip.
Always gotta take into consideration the amount of effort it's gonna take to pack something out BEFORE you kill it.

I would love to go there.
I was on the rifle and pistol team when I was in the military and use to shoot ALOT.
That would be a great experience for me.

I'm 99% sure, I'd seen "game-carts" built of tubing of some material (I'm guessing, either steel or aluminum), designed specifically for hauling large carcasses outta the bush, as it were; in the back of one of them magazines (Field & Stream or ¿American Rifleman?); many years ago. Seems like they reminded me of a "snowmobile- wrangling cart" (/ only 2 wheels and a long handle) {built a little different} Seems like they had maybe 10 or 12" tires on 'em. Once you'd "lose" all the guts y offal; might not be so terrible difficult to get the rascal to a convenient location for proper butchering.

That might be another option. I'll look into it, thanks.
