Hey guys, I'm back. Pulled in yesterday bout 5 PM. Made the drive straight through in 13 hours.
Didn't get an elk, but had a wonderful time and met some wonderful people.
I feel that I've made some new friends and look forward to goin back sometime in the future and see if we can get an elk then.
Saw some beautiful country. Loved hiking the mountains with Randy and his wife is so sweet and nice.
The pics are from Randy and Teresa's house.
What a gorgeous view and wonderful people.
There's a sniper school on that mountain in the pic and you can hear them training sometimes.
The night before I left to come home it was nearly a full moon and they were shootin at 9 pm and you could hear the shot and the gong if they hit the target. It was awesome.

Hey FF. We fished 2 days and didn't catch any fish either. Ha.
We fished Cascade Lake 1 day and the Salmon and Little Salmon river another day and never got 1 bite.
OH well. Still had a wonderful time and saw some beautiful country that I've never seen before.
Maybe next time.
Still sounds like a beautiful trip. Look at it this way since you didn't get your elk, You'll have to go back just for that!. Most likely get fish then too.
Sounds like a legitimate excuse to me.
Welcome back! Glad you had a good time, and a safe drive!

Doing good Steve. Went camping and fishing last weekend at my local lake - Del Valle Lake and went after stripers and smallies, but came away with some nice crappie! They are starting to plant/stock Mt. Lassen trout in the East Bay Lakes, so excited about going after those now. Water is still a little warm for them to be real active, but by mid month next month, they should be on the hunt for food :-) I created a post on the Stage of our adventure. Go check it out :-) There was a HUGE striper caught at Del Valle on the day we left! Over 20lbs!
