That thing would eat for a snack the ones I used to catch with my grandpa growing up in Indiana. We thought a 12 incher was a monster. Used to have community fish fries in the little burg where I lived so I've seen a lot of Indiana perch - never any anywhere near that size.

Same thing where I grew up in Wyoming. I’d take the kids perch fishing at lake Desmet near the town we lived in. They were easy for the kids to catch and good eatin too but 20 of em fit in an ice cream bucket. We’d take several people out and try to fill a five gallon bucket and there’d be a 100 fish in it and the biggest one was about 6 or 7 inches. We’d fillet fish all night and have a fish fry the next day. Really tasty but lots of filleting for not much meat. These jumbos here are just as good but it don’t take but one or two for a good meal.

Don't get me started. And in California if it ain't a bass, it's a perch. And there are no perch in California.

I beg to differ with you sir! I have caught a multitude of Yellow Perch out of the Irongate Reservoir on the Klamath River east of Yreka. But then that was a while ago..... Always fun to catch... and eay!

¡Lord have mercy, Mike! That's one heckofa good charge'o good-eating fish! They used to have "Lake Erie Perch Fries" at several local "waterin' holes" around the Dirty City; each'n every Friday evening... Ain't heard of any recently. I think they've pretty well "shut down" the commercial guys, up here... I miss going for a belly-full.

Funny that they'll attack and try
to devour something about
2/3rds their own size; that lure is nearly as long as the perch itself !
