Now, THAT'S something I wish I'd'a tried; before I had all my teeth in such shape, that I had'em all snagged outta there, several years ago! (Sure did used to LOVE "my" beef jerky!)

Half the time I break off a chunk and just suck on it (what did I just say) suck most of the marinade flavor and smokeyness out of it then its soft enough to chew on up to get the remaining flavor. Great for out hunting.
It’s always fun to be deer hunting and chewing on deer jerky!
In Florida these birds are highly protected, you shoot one and it is, "Do not pass go, Do not collect $200.00, Go directly UNDER the the jail"!

Many states allow hunting for sandhill cranes. A few states allow hunting for tundra swans. See attachments.

Any/all fowl should always be well-cooked (not well-done ) to
prevent food poisoning !

I have eaten hundreds of wildfowl and they have been rare to med rare. I understand where you are coming from but I will continue with the med rare till I die if it kills me🙃. Gotta have my steaks that way but prefer rare on them. But then we raise our own beef and buddy sense high school butchers, cuts and wraps them. But I still order rare at restaurants - just my way.
Appreciate you looking out for me. Thx

Just going by what I was taught, mostly by my dad who was a Steward - 1st Class (Officers' cook) in the Navy ! Been through
a few bouts of food poisoning in the past; it ain't nothin' nice ! Was just tryin' to spare other folk that kind of misery ! I like my steaks medium rare to medium; have occasionally ordered it 'black and blue' ! I have even eaten small chunks of raw hamburg on occasion with just a sprinkling of salt and pepper; used to joke with the waiters that when I stuck my fork in my steak, I wanted to hear it 'Mooo' !

I totally agree with domestic fowl - need it cooked as with pork.

As with pork, bear meat also carries the possibility of getting trichinosis, needing to be well-
cooked (NOT well-done) ! An internal temperature of at least
160° is strongly recommended !
Have had most species of deer,
plus bison, rabbit, squirrel, duck, pheasant and partridge, but no bear meat (yet) ! Also, will NOT
eat horsemeat, nor any species
of canines or felines (personal choice) !
