I have always said a kid never gets in trouble with a fishing rod in their hand. I have proudly taken my kids , Neighbors kids, friends kids a couple of brothers that lost their dad and my grandkids fishing when ever it was possible.

I bet you do too! How about showing a few pictures of them enjoying the experience? I'll Start

In the late 50s when I was gone in the Navy, My Dad's brother died, my uncle Al. Dad went to their small farm and helped out some by milking the couple cows they had and more important he took the two boys, my cousins fishing. to this day those two men in their 70s remember what Dad did and taking them fishing! I sure miss him!

Kerry. Thank you so much for that story. When my dad was very sick I gave up fishing physically to be with my dad fishing emotionaly with him by his bed. It was amazing how much bigger some of the fish were that we caught as time went by.

Your story shows that fishing is way more than just wetting a line. The whole experience is what we remembed. Your dad's gesture proved that. I miss my dad as you do. We were fortunate to have great parents and their memories live on thru us and others our fathers touched.

Thank you Kerry for your sacrifice in the service also! You gave up what other take for granted. Your story proved it!

Thank you for your kind words, I know it must have been comforting for your Dad for you to help him fish and net the big ones. On my Dads last day, we were on the river fishing for Steelhead in a river sled he built when he said,"Kerry you better get me home". That was his last Heart attack and he never made it past midnight.
