There you go Flyknot! Encouragement! I'm thinking now of doing it myself. Thanks BW. I have a good buddy who has built a house down around Rosarito and is planning on retiring down there. He's married to a Mexican lady, so she can buy property. Gringos have to lease I think.

That was vw bus. Surf trip!
Aww, the VW bus. Lots of us had the 90 inch wheel based Chevy or Dodge vans.
Great surf down there. At night we would circle up the vans like the old wagon trains. Those fish street tacos were the best. Cheap Lobster dinners also.

My wife is Mexican also. She has duel citizenship!

I can't remember the surf spot names but they were great.
One spot I do remember there was a big rock just below the surface that made for a great break.
There was a fish processing pier there with lots of shark fins moving around.
Seems stupid now but they had so much food to eat that they didn't come near us. Probably blue sharks.

San Quentin and Castro’s camp
I was going to suggest San Quentin also. I have never fished out of there but I have hunted there and seen nice halibuts, rock fish. I have traveled by yacht fishers several times up and down Baja from Newport Beach to Cabo. Outside the bay the red snapper, bass, yellow tail can be wide open. They do catch some strip marlin and tuna there also. Getting out to the ocean can be tricky so might want to hire a ponga.
If time is not a problem September- October I’d go to Mag Bay. It’s the second largest bay on the pacific coast second to San Francisco Bay. During that time of the the tuna and marlin can be wide open. But better yet a that time of year the wahoo are hitting. That one of the best eating fish there is.

DO NOT wear or drive expensive-looking anything. Do not wear jewelry, an expensive watch or ring(s). Use pesos and hide your extra cash money before leaving your motor home. Some businesses do take credit cards but do not expect that.
I’m not trying to scare you but there are some bad people (world-wide) that will try to take advantage of any American. The locals are generally great people and helpful, if you have a flat tire usually at least one Mexican will stop to help you.
Seafood restaurants along the coast are delicious and cheap. Have a great time on your trip.
