A gift card is the only way to go. If you've watched him fondling & drooling over a particular thing that's different. Get it for him. If you're just taking a shot at something you'll probably miss. Let the fine man pick out something he really wants. That's from one Okie to another.

SadBirdStillSings: Stay away from trying to buying your husband a boat. That is too complicated decision from the facts you have presented, it is almost certain to not be the correct choice. (That is unless he has left you a torn out page of a catalog with a selection circled in red!

Do you know any of his fishing buddies? Might call one whom you think might know and shed some light on your dilemma. Otherwise, go with the Saran wrap! Just Sayin...RJS

Look up Porta-Botes it's a fold up boat. Takes about 5 min. to set up and off you go. Don't need a trailer and the material that it is made from makes the boat super quite. All you would have to due is fold the boat up and put it on your car, van, truck or motorhome. Mine is a 12' 6" boat. But you can get a 14'. Don't laugh, some countries us theirs for emergency services. At least check it out at Porta-Bote .com watch the video ask for a brochure & price list. There always a sale. You probably get one for under $3,000. I bought mine for $2,100.

Go out on his birthday with him to his favorite very private fishing area, then surprise him with ... well you can figure out something he'd really appreciate? Get ahead of the curve and be inventive and spontaneous! He'll LOVE whatever you come up with!

Not a fisher. Husband is. His birthday is coming up & I have no clue what to get him. I want to get him something awesome that he can’t live without or something that he can take with him everytime he goes out on the water. He normally fishes out of lakes here in Oklahoma. He likes to catch catfish, crappie, bass. Whatever he can. Mostly on the shore but he’s looking at buying himself a little boat. What can you guys recommend, if anything? Thanks!

Would you rather be fishing or staying home with the wife wrapped in saran wrap?
I think all the fishermen on this forum would have a hard time figuring that out.

I’m thinking...I’m thinking... 😜

We all know cash always fits, but a gift card is a practical idea.

If he has a pick up truck to put it in a 12 foot jon boat would suit his needs on ponds and small lakes.

Get a trolling motor to go with the Jon boat hard to paddle against the wind.

A Loving Wife that fishes with him. Mine used to go until I stopped letting her take the 2 Golden Retreivers.

Yep, RJS is right. Can’t possibly buy ‘the’ right boat. I suggest a gift card, throw a private party, bring food and show up naked. Any fisherman i know of could really appreciate that.

But add the plastic wrap to make it a challenge to get to the Merchandise.
