OOPS FRAUDIAN SLIP, MEANT A DEHOOKER . YOU KNOW YOU PLACE IT ON THE SHAFT OF THE HOOK GIVE A LITTLE SHAKE AND THE HOOK PULLS OUT. PAINLESS AND EASY TO USE. INFACT YOU MUST HAVE A DEHOOKER ON YOUR BOAT TO CATCH A SNAPPER OR YOU CAN BE FINED BY THE FWC. CHECK BASS PRO .

SadBirdStillSings: Have you considered a stay-at-home gift of warpping yourself in saran wrap. Since we are in a semi-quarantine and social distancing, this might be something he would never forget. I believe big, expensive gifts like a boat are out, unless he has left the exact specifications or a page torn out of a catalog it will not be what he wanted. Just sayin...RJS

Would you rather be fishing or staying home with the wife wrapped in saran wrap?
I think all the fishermen on this forum would have a hard time figuring that out.

Hard to advise when we don't know what he already has. And how much do you want to spend? Does he have a weatherman multitool? It's got a bunch of different tools in it and folds up like a pocket knife. I don't know how I ever got by without mine. They cost around 100 bucks or less.

I hate the stupid spellcheck. We know you meant leatherman. 😄

Go to tacklewarehouse.com and purchase a gift card. They have the best selection of fishing products available.

Thanks, didn't even notice. Hope she's not out lookin for a weatherman. Boy, wouldn't her husband be surprised? Wrap that in plastic.

Gift card to Bass Pro Shops.

He already has you. What else can he not live without?

Yep, RJS is right. Can’t possibly buy ‘the’ right boat. I suggest a gift card, throw a private party, bring food and show up naked. Any fisherman i know of could really appreciate that.

Hi sadbirdsstilling,

First you are the BEST wife!!!!! I would love anything fishing instead of socks etc.

The suggestion before mine of a card is great but might I suggest put as many $50.00 dollar Bass Pro Shop gift cards in the envelope with the card as you can reasonably afford. It is not the amount but the thought that counts. BPS has it all and you did say a small boat.........Well they do have boats for just about all price ranges and sizes.

If you want the card and then a wrapped gift, get a fishing T-shirt roll the card, cards up in it and wrap it that way he won't be sure what it is and will never expect the gift card/cards. And no it is not my idea my daughter did that to my about 15 yrs. ago. One of my best gifts ever!!

Just a thought,

Scorchy

Not a fisher. Husband is. His birthday is coming up & I have no clue what to get him. I want to get him something awesome that he can’t live without or something that he can take with him everytime he goes out on the water. He normally fishes out of lakes here in Oklahoma. He likes to catch catfish, crappie, bass. Whatever he can. Mostly on the shore but he’s looking at buying himself a little boat. What can you guys recommend, if anything? Thanks!

My wife was in the same dilemma years ago. 25 years to be exact. She decided to fishing with me and I thought everything I know and now she is my fishing buddy and often out fishes me. And like you asked. She is something I can’t live without.
