Was out in the yard yesterday and had a guest in the back yard by my chair. And we practiced Social Distancing.

Probably a good idea. I hope you didn't kill it.

If that one would have been in my YARD, I woulda killed it. My view bout poisonous snakes is the next time I might not see it soon enough. God let me see it soon enough this time for a reason. IMO that is.

Well: I would have practiced decapitation. What if you, or a grandchild is out in the dark, bare footed and meets mr. copperhead? They aren't as aggressive as water moccisans, but still quite veanemous!
Just sayin...RJS

That's a beautiful specimen. I'm with flyguy and bossman. Not for me to decide who lives and who dies. Leave me alone and I'll reciprocate.

My aversion to snakes is almost as deep as my aversion to scorpions and yellow jackets. Poisonous ones, if in my space, they die! If I'm in their space I go away.

They sure do blend in with their surroundings.
We have diamondback rattlers here, they do a good job of blending in also.

They're pretty snakes for sure, beautiful in fact. But if they are in my yard by my chair, they gonna be PRETTY dead.

I don’t bother them and so far they have done the same for me. I try not to kill them even when we’re baling hay we try to avoid each other. I have seen my share of rattle snakes in the fields from the safety of a tractor. I stop let them get out of the row of hay then I’ll continue on. I just don’t see a reason to kill things just because they have the ability to hurt me. I guess if I seen a lot of them then I might change my mind!!

If I'm out huntin or fishin somewhere where I don't consider MY space, then I try to leave them alone. They are in THEIR space. I was talkin bout when they're in MY space.

I've had two dogs get bit by rattlesnakes in the last few years; so if it invades my property they get Remington Disease.
