Armadillo's can carry leprosy. I visited a leprosy colony overseas & I can assure you I don't want that disease.

Didn't know that about dillers. We always called them possum on a half shell. They are so tough that we would par boil them for an hour or so. Don't want no leprosy.

A story: When I was in the AIr Force, I was giving survival training to aircrew members, and annually would give refresher training. Stationed in South Carolina,I had a zoo of bad animals just to show them what they might run into on the ground in any given area of the world. Had a copperhead, female, I had caught near the base (Charleston)She was going to have babies. I didn't want them killed, so I took her home so she could have them in peace. My intention was to turn them loose in some forgotten place in the woods near there. One morning getting ready to go to work I noticed the top of the large aquarium she was in was loose. I naturally set the cover back where it belonged. My wife did a quick count, one missing. I'll take care of him when I get home. "The hell you will, you're not leaving until you find him and put him back where he belongs" The better part of an hour later, I found him, under my baby daughters bed. The last time I ever brought any of my pets home.

I think that sick tiger has some high rollers scared. After saying animals can't get it now the're faced with maybe my house cat can get it & wind up killing me. This virus doesn't seem to be letting up. The number of sick & the death toll keeps going up. I'm quitting. I can't eat this pecan pie some church lady brought & do the form. That's multitasking in the extreme.

Ok , lots of fishing here salt and fresh. Take your time have with it. Just left bass pro to get some hooks for trout . Lots of places to fish from shore and bridges too.after this virus clears I can tell you more places . I learned to fish this area by wadding the flats. Lived on base for 5 years so fished Eglin a lot of different ways. I’m very good at catching specks. HMU if you need any help.

If I were there I would go to Navarre Beach Pier. 1500 feet long puts you about 50-100 yards from tthe Gulf Stream. King Mackerel, Even Flounder or sometimes Black Fin Tuna (not often) and Cobie Jack. my son was stationed down there and we went and visited. Good Fishing from the pier.

When i was living in Pipe creek, Texas we had Fire Ants out there. Had a big Armadillo living on my 3 acres and i noticed that he had cleaned out everything else and had started on the Fire Ant nests. He went on "my" endangered list. Then I noticed I hadn't seen him for a while. Later went up the road to one of the neighbors and mentioned that I hadn't seen it for a while.
"We ate it!"
"What! WHY?"
""It is Exotic Meat."
"It was eating the Fire Ants!"
"I didn't know that, I would not have shot it." His area had fire Ant Nest Piles 3 feet high. Served him right, IMO. Rattle Snakes are not as agressive as Fire Ants are, unless sheading.

Now about Snakes. I really like Black snakes, they eat rattlers. Any thing a rattler can eat a black snake can to. When I see a rattler I look for 4-5 LB rocks and then try and play Catch with the snake. After a while, it forgets it doesn't have any arms and the Rock becomes a headstone. The Raptors always like a free lunch.
In Arizona if it has Spines, Thorns, or has poison, it is native.
Down by Ruby ran into a Game Warden that after talking a while, told me that because it was so hard to keep vaccine cold (in the desert), they were using a 6 foot long Spark Plug wire to use on the bite area, be forr going to the Hospital. The high voltage would break up the poison molecules.
Told that to a lady on the Net years back and she lived about 20 miles out of town. Her husband had taken the car in to work and her's was in the dealers. I had posted on that Internet site the story.
She went out to the Garage and got bit by a Black Widow spider. She was allergic to them.
The phone was out and no cell service where she lived.
She remembered what I had posted and took a model train power supply and put it on top of the bite and below on her hand and "Hit it" 3-4 times. It had already started to swell. In a couple mins it looked like a missquito bite. An hour later she had to look real hard to see where she had been bitten.
She EMailed me the story later. Do I believe her? Yep!
She had no reason to lie to me on an EMail. For what it is worth, holding a Spark Plug wire to a bite and the other side of the foot, leg, arm, to the side of the frame of a car is pretty tough.
But it beats the effects of a bite if they inject. There are "Dry Strikes", But I wouldn't want to bet on it.

Sredni Vashtar is a short story about a boy and his pet mongoose. It is very short, and very much worth reading, especially if you were ever a fan of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. !
Maybe it wasn't a mongoose. Maybe a ferret? Been a while since I've read it.

What it says at the bottom.
