I only fish at Beech Fork Lake. It's close to home and is a big lake but probably the spots I fish are over-fished. I catch a fish occasionally. Also bank fishing, not from a boat.

Okay just googled your area now I see your dilemma in regards to others around you.

I would suggest to make a post of your own looking for other fishers in the Beech Fork Lake area. May just be others out there that are not choosing to join the stage yet.

Also when you respond to a thread please use the quote reply button. That way one doesn't have to scroll backwards to find what you are talking about.

One of those red rubber ones that was usually about half flat and hurt like hell when hit in the face with it.

Well I occasionally meet people out at the lake. Some don't fish, they bring their dogs out there for exercise. I did meet one man out there that was fishing alone. He said all his fishing buddies had died and I didn't see him again. I felt safe with him and he was catching fish and I wasn't. He watched me reel and said I wasn't reeling fast enough. I would go at daybreak and fish till it got too warm and leave.
I wonder if he might have passed away. He was a nice man and when I got my lure hung up, he would help me get it unstuck. Then I remember him telling me he had back problems - then I told him not to help because I didn't have any health issues and could do it myself.

He may have taken that last sentence the wrong way. I would think that you didn't want him hurting himself he may have thought differently.

I hope being out there by your self that you carry some form of protection. Spray, gun, or big walking stick?

Well I have a couple of pistols in my home. One is a deringer (I could take that). I really fish pretty close to the dock and don't go to any secluded spots. If someone goes with me that I know (there is a trail close to the lake) will try that sometime.

That's good to know don't want to see you on the news unless its for catching a monster fish.

But do consider putting a post out looking for other fishers. There is even a web site for only lady fishers. The name of it may come by way of another thread from someone that posted it awhile ago. I just don't remember it.

True that's saw. But I think her comfort zone is local.
