For Stripers, I've used mostly artificial baits. 1/2 t 3 oz bucktail jigs in white, or large lures in white or silver. whatever large baits you use for Musky's also works for Stripers. Stripers are not shy and will hit anything they think they can get into their mouths. I've had 12 inch stripers hit 6 in shiners. whatever I use in saltwater I also use in the Ohio river.

I like that: “Stripers (strippers) are not shy and will hit anything they can get in their mouth...”.. I might add that the older or larger they are, they’re likely to be more grateful for your lure, and they’ll be mighty fun “fishing”.

Interesting; from Wikipedia:

“When fishing, lures (Bass worms) or live bait will work. Lures that mimic baitfish, worms, crayfish, frogs, and mice are all effective.”
Mice! (Not the wireless ones, guys.)

Hello Cabrales2, I live in the North East. In early spring like end of April early May I have fun with schoolies Stripers 18-26 inches on sandworms. Once June hits I use live eels and bunker chunks. Freelining eels is a blast and 20-30 lb stripers hit them hard. You might even nail a 50+ especially at night. Striper59.

I live in the NorthEast too. Just started fishing again since I was a kid. Do you go out on boat or fish from shore. Looking for some.locations and best ways to fish for Stripers without getting in my Kayak yet.
Much thanks
