English is such a fun language at times! It's unkind to call a strippers wenches. ;-) Winches on trailers help get the boat in to catch stripers.

Had anyone gone stripper fishing and what kind of bait do you use ?
For Stripers, I've used mostly artificial baits. 1/2 t 3 oz bucktail jigs in white, or large lures in white or silver. whatever large baits you use for Musky's also works for Stripers. Stripers are not shy and will hit anything they think they can get into their mouths. I've had 12 inch stripers hit 6 in shiners. whatever I use in saltwater I also use in the Ohio river.

One place to go in your area is San Luis Reservoir, east of Gilroy on Hwy 152. I used frozen cut bait still fished like you would for catfish. These are landlocked fish. Lots of people fish from the bank. You should be able to find a place to fish based on where cars are parked and walking down to the water.

You could also try 1oz. Rattle Traps and swim baits.
It would help if you told us a bit about where you are at but I like cut shad and bullheads in the Calif Delta.
