Big ol Johnson. Need no Evinrude it’s a song. I have a bunch of way old Johnsons and evinrudes they used to have different stickers maybe different color engine cover but parts were interchangeable. Now it seems the ladies just want us to have big ol Johnson’s.

When I first purchased one of
my Shimano spinning reels
some years back, it came with
with a spare spool; a few years later, the same model came
without the spare ! I emailed
the company asking why they
were no longer supplying spares with the new reels, and what would be the price of purchase
to acquire one ? They told me
the price was $20 each, but
they also sent me two new
spares for my reel for free ! Needless to say, I was very
happy with the outcome and impressed with their handling
of the situation as well !

They were good engines back in there days. My father was a mechanic on them from 1956 to 1986. Cant remember which, but one engines was painted blue the other gray. One way to tell them apart with out the cover.

Sorry to hear you had a Blue Johnson back then Gordo, but I'm sure it's a nice "shade of Gray" now...

could be both. I've seen some elderly women's hair so gray it had a blue tint to it
