Good morning (late) to all. Like Oz said, icy here but that’s not all bad.
Wife got off work because of it so get to have a long weekend with her (also off Monday for MLK day).
Hope everyone has a good day.

I saw the topic and thought "this is the coldest danged July I've ever experienced". High of 45 today and it's still kinda rainy. Supposed to be a nice weekend. OK.

Gooood Mornin 35* warmer today at 28* but the wind is blowing in a sideways snow storm. Mother's Nature is showing her teeth.

Looks like you're send'n that stuff eastward. Winds have died a bit since overnight, bone chillin' 20's today & 4" of white stuff predicted overnight & they've already canceled my 3 games for tomorrow. Just split some kindling & started up the Ariens Sno-Blower - all set, bring it on Ma!

Good morning it's a whopping 7* here w/39mph winds, needless to say I will not be fishing. Trapped between two winter storms. To the NW and the SE I expect we will get something from one of them!

Threw a rod? I don't know a thing about outboard motors, but I imagine if it's a 4 stroke you'd have to put motor oil in it to keep it lubricated? Maybe it didn't come with any and he didn't put any in?

It's one of them E-TECH Evinrude motors. He had oil in it but maybe the wrong kind IDK. We'll see what dealer says.

So the E is supposed to mean Electronic but if means Extra motor needed? Guess should of gotten the Big Ol Johnson ... don’t need no Evinrude? 🤠.. that’s a bummer. Hopefully he had dealer do any and all work in the early days of it.... therefore it’s on them.

Does by no means make it not breakable, some things just have defective parts from the getgo

Yep everybody turns out a lemon now and again. The difference is how well they stand behind their products and their reputation. Several years back wife and I purchased a Keurig coffee maker. It stopped working after we'd had it for a couple of months. I called them and they tried to walk me thru some things that might fix it. Finally they said nope it's broke, we'll send you a new one. Where do I send the old one? You don't, you can keep it, we don't want it. I was impressed. There are a few good manufacturers out there like that. Talking fishing - Orvis. They don't mess around. If you're not happy they bend over backwards to make you happy.

Well we can only hope they do right by him. He definitely hasn't abused that motor, so we'll see.

Talked to the owner of the Silver Waterwheel, an all-inclusive fishing resort in Canada. They ordered 25, 75 Hp E-techs when they first came out. They are on a three-year rotation cycle with their outboards. The others were Hondas & Yamahas, 25 of each. He had to hire another mechanic just to keep E-Techs running. He didn't re-order the E-techs. They ran well the first year and then nothing but trouble. He had tried Mercury but that was a mistake too. He went to Suzuki after the E-Techs. They have been good.

The Silver Waterwheel is a great place fish but it's hard to get an opening there. You have to go up with someone who is already is going there and stay with them.
