Braided line (Page 3): good for you...ive tried it..hate it..will stick to good ole STREN!!!!

Not to criticize, but I take issue with the scissor cutting braided line when snagged. As said, this line can take years to deteriorate and so I believe cutting is not the best answer. Please consider pulling your snagged line until you either get your rig back or it breaks. If you get it back great, if you don’t try you not only get nothing back but leave your line and lure for future fisherman and wildlife to be entangled in it! Just a thought.

i suppose you could say the same about mono..

I don’t cut either. Most snags I pull out even if I have to wrap the line around a screwdriver or something to avoid cutting my fingers! Lol 10lb test fireline will pull a cinder block off the bottom of 20’ of water before it breaks! I can’t break braid if it’s in good shape and it outlasts mono! I use a florocarbon 14-20lb test leader about 2-3’ in clear water.

Well,as shania said,gone and done it! Bought 2 spools of braid today. Is the earth trembling? What was I thinking? Anyway I’m gonna fish it and give it a fair shot. Be fishing lot of stumps and timber,jig& pig an jitterbugs and the lucky 13. Boy howdy!!!!!
