Yes agree 100% liking retirement very much. Fishing this morning store shopping on a Thursday and a nice dinner planned tonight. Working did not award all that.
Did you get 5 cents for the bigger bottles?

Yes we did! Wow, what memories. I use to ride my bike, a stingray, all over and pick up bottles and mow lawns until I was 14, YES 14, then I got my drivers license and could work at the gas station. And thus, began my workin career. That and the farm. Many years ago, but doesn't seem like it sometimes.
What was you minimum wage in your workin career? I can only remember $ 1.25.

Not countin farm wages, I believe my first fillin station job was 1.00 an hour. And I believe smokes were 35 cents a pack. That's when I started smoking full time. Quit that nasty habit bout 40 years ago, thank God literally.
I must of been in the high rent section at a $ 1.25. For the life of me can not remember gas prices. I caddied at $ 5.00 a bag carrying doubles so gas was no problem rolling in the $$$ at $ 20.00 a day. Then got to play on Mondays free cause the course was closed.

WOW, you were rich. 20 bucks a day, that was way more money than I ever saw. I was in a little town in West Texas though. So wages were pretty low.
Yea I seeked out the private country clubs where the big bucks were .LOL County courses they carried their own.
Well to answer y'alls questions in the summer I mowe yards, and in the winter I shovel driveways, the rest is whatever I can find to make some money on. I do have limits if you know what I mean.

Little town I grew up in didn't have any golfin. Next town over had a country club course but had to be a member( rich guys) and golf wasn't for me.
I don't want to get a actual job because I'm waiting till I decide if I want to into the navy

Hello Spirit, you out there? Boy needs to talk to you. Let him know what's up.
Forget that Navy Gabe. Join the Air Force. Honestly check them all out and see who gives you the best chance for a future afterwards.

Oh I could tell you some stories about those rich guys how the caddy that makes them look good and yet how caddies are looked down on there in the 60's. But $$$ talk and call me anything but late for dinner.

Yeah I know but I always Liked the navy Were you in the Airforce? Plus you ain't got to be as smart to be in the navy, I'm common sense smart not book smart.

I will ditto that. Time is what we make of it. Worked since I was 13 and even younger if you count collecting soda bottles for 2 cents and shoveling sidewalks for 50 cents.
I started working at 9 with a paper route. I would collect pop bottles along the way and put them in the bags that hung over the handlebars. Every once in a while a bottle would work it’s way into the spokes and act as an instant brake and throw me over the handlebars. The worst part was the bottle would break and I’d loose that money. My first hourly job was washing pots and pans at a hospital for 95 cents an hour.
