Oz, ain't you glad we don't have to worry about crab traps?
It might change things for sure.
So yes I am.
I don't know about catchin em, but I do know how the Navy used to get rid of em fifty years ago. DDT. What they do nowadays since DDT has been banned I have no clue. I've heard you can set yourself on fire and stab en with a icepick as they flee the scene. DDT is much less painful. Course it nearly wiped out the eagles and the condors. Can't have your cake and...................
You know, I's sittin here trying to think of the first time I went fishing. I can't. I honestly don't remember ever not fishing. I'll have to think on it some more.
I believe my first time fishing was when my one great-uncle took me first to a sears store, and got the clerk there to load me up. Tackle box, line, sinkers, hooks, bobbers, line on a brand new zebco reel with a 4 and 1/2 foot fiberglass pole.Im thinking there were a couple of spinners and maybe a rapala, too. Im forgetting the de-liar scale with tape measure and a hook file. All that didnt add up to a twenty...of course that was in the sixties Then it was on to the "local" fishing hole which was at a hospital where they had a relative staying there to recoup.Since it was open only to visitors , the general public never found out about the great bass and panfish available. My uncle showed me all he knew about tying knots, how to rig up a set up and cast the outfit. Ive tried to repay it forward to my nephews and nieces, and our daughter when we were blessed with a child.

My first time I was 4 years old fishing with my Father, Brother and Sister in our boat. Caught a big one that I couldn't pull in. The man in the boat next to us wasn't happy knowing I caught his anchor line. This is my rod I used that day. Had it restored a few years back and it hangs on the wall.
Man if that rod could talk.
The earliest I remember fishing is when I was 10 years old. We had moved to Napa California and were walking distance to the Napa River. I would take walks down there and saw folks fishing and started asking questions and somebody hooked me up with an old rod and reel and I caught some small stripers and cats and the rest is history.
Years ago an old man I had fished with many times had to go to an old soldier's home. He wanted me to have his fishing equipment which consisted of an old metal box & 3 rods & reels. 2 of the rod & reels look like twins to Gordon's rod. The other rod was a 5ft steel rod with an old pfluger baitcaster reel spooled with black line. I hung the steel rod & reel on the wall over my wife's curio cabinet. The other 2 rods are hung in my shop. There's not enough money in Dallas to get those rods from me. I'm with CDB, if those rods could talk.
I believe that you guys have way too much free time on your hands. Just my opinion which means nothing to anyone..

What do you do when you aren't fishing or on the stage?

I will ditto that. Time is what we make of it. Worked since I was 13 and even younger if you count collecting soda bottles for 2 cents and shoveling sidewalks for 50 cents.
