Had 2 paper routes a lady on 1 made poviticia she got her paper for a fresh loaf every month.
The store bought does not hold a candle to the homemade.

Yea that brings back some memories!
The pie lady lived on the edge of town an un incorporated part.
Stepping out on her back porch was like stepping back in time 60’s to the 30’s!
Washboard tub with rollers, old wooden wine press, hand meat grinder.
Something good cooking or being baked!

I had never heard of poviticia so I checked wikipedia . Looks like there's a Polish version my wife and I make too . Ground walnut paste in a sweet bread rolled and baked.
