Hello Jim Red. I saw where the president of Dicks destroyed 5 million dollars worth of AR 15 rifles. But when I went into the local store they had all kinds of assault rifles on the shelves.Do you understand that reasoning?
False/FREE advertisement and wrote it off on taxes.?
He was on a CBS program and I believe he was talking about getting into politics.

That will get him there for sure
Went to Academy store and bought some lures and a couple of containers of night crawlers. Also bought a $150.00 pellet gun (their prices are high too!). The clerk was so interested in the worms that she forgot to ring up the gun....think I told her? No No. It just helps make up for the other times that "I" got screwed. Some people call it KARMA. Who am I to argue?

One more reason (besides their firearms policy) to avoid Dick's.

The AR-15 is not an assault rifle. It does not have a full auto setting. It is basically a scary-looking (to snowflakes) semiautomatic .22 long rifle with pistol grip and detachable magazine. Since we civilians can not buy M-16s it is one of the few civilian weapons suited for self-defense against multiple attackers (A****a, etc.).
Maybe the local store owner disagrees with company policy, IOW, he's a real American.
Bought my first kayak there 4 or 5 years ago. First time out was near home - just to try it out. Second time out was on vacation 800 miles from home & the foot rest broke off & fell overboard. Tried to get a new footpeg & couldn't. Customer service took my order for a new one & said it would be 6-8 weeks. I asked what I was supposed to do & they said to return it! The closest Dick's was 40 miles away.Got the new one & it was fine for my vacation. Got back home & next time out another footpeg broke. To shorten the story I ended up returning it the next spring & getting another new one. After all the credits & goodwill cards I got I ended up paying $175.00 for what started out as a $500.00 kayak. I shop there occasionally but won't buy any big ticket items there.
Oh yeah, a couple of days after I returned the kayak for a new one; I got a package in the mail with two footpegs and rails - 10 months after they were ordered. Too funny!
A note about Dick's Sporting Goods. The original store was across the river from my home town. It was truly a sporting goods store with fair prices. Like others here have said, once it grew beyond that and became a chain the almighty dollar turned it into something to be ashamed of. Sad but true.
