i was at a dicks sporting goods store thy had a sale buy 5 get 5 for free thy tried to mke me pay for 5 highest priced idems in the 23 dallor range then give me 5 idems that were less than 2 dallors that was last time i will ever walk into one of dicks store imm hoping i can get some support on this im retired and thy to save a buck when i can not give it away

Dick's is NOT a sporting store for buyers who search for best deals, NOR BETTER QUALITY. Yeah, their "sales" have been everything else but a sale. I have been disappointed with Bass Pro Shop lately also. Large se******ns, but huge prices. Shop around brick stores as well as on line stores. And, do not brush off the China buys. For years I have quality at fraction of the cost. Problems there is long waits, and not huge se******ns. Investigate who is making your rods and reels and ya might get shocked! chuckle

I did but only because I needed a Pier Fishing Net. After checking on line I found a Dick's store on the way to where I was going for $20. Sorry to I didn't need it. :( Still have it in the plastic bag. But it was for insurance anyway. Other than that one time, I agree, Dick's prices are normally high.

We used to have a Dicks Sporting. They folded. I used to buy softball shoes there. Everything else was too expensive and getting help with guns and ammo was an exercise in futility.

The pursuit of the almighty dollar seems to shade almost everything these day. Welcome to the forum littlejoe. It's nice to have you here. Where do you fish? And if you put your location in your profile you can be directed to others in your area for info and help should you ever need it. There are a couple of "gentlemen" on here who are amassing vast quantities of information to assist all us old farts and newbies when we have need.

The sad part to that story is there was probably someone close to you on the pier that had one and would have netted you fish had you gotten one.

Went there on a black Friday a few years ago. At the door 5AM ammo c**pon said buy one get one. At check out I told the girl that was too high of a price. Showed her the c**pon and she pointed out in small writing that I could not see. "BUY ONE GET ONE 50 per cent off. I left them on the counter. No more black Fridays at Dicks or anywhere for me
