Hillsdale is a nice place to fish so don't scratch it off your list it just expensive for a non resident to fish in Kansas I hear Missouri is planning to increase their non resident fee's too. You can buy a 1 day license I think its about $15.00 but that's from memory so check I always have purchased a annual license I didn't answer you regarding motels cause I live in south KC and it only about a hours drive from my place

It sucks, but if you are a non-resident of Kansas, regardless of your age you are required to have a non-resident fishing license If you want to use more than 2 poles you will need a third pole license. The license is good for 365 day from time of purchase a feature I believe they added last year. You will also need a parking permit. In don't think they want us non-resident fishing in their state with all the BS fees
