Yes, caught them on the big shad/ Alwise.
Back down on Cherokee Lake working the Striper Bass!
Nice Bass Betts, looking good girl!
Nice job fellas, enjoy dinner tonight!
Nice catch Ivey! I have the same neck problem, degenerative and herniated discs in my neck. I’ve gotten some relief from epidural steroid injections, but after that you could be looking at surgery.
If you’re looking to catch some striper bass on Cherokee Lake, they were hitting shad on a Carolina rig pretty consistently a couple months back. Planer boards worked as well as beaching the boat on shore.
Hey Jsbar - sure thing, our best day was an early morning on the water by 6:45 and we were beached on Panther Creek State Park directly across from Greenlee Campground, RV and Marine (Rutledge) across on the other side of the lake. Good luck and have fun!

When the Stripers weren’t biting, we would bang the Handle of the fishing net on the bottom of the boat for several minutes to create sound because, as I learned this trip, school fish are very curious. It worked every time, whether we were trolling or beached up on the shore. Give it a shot anglers!
We had one real cold morning, but we caught a bunch of white bass and a few good Stripers.
