Wow what a nice haul K Krew!! Well done!
Doesn’t sound all that comfortable but it’s hard to complain about your score 👍 Nicely done!
I would recommend TankerCity.com. John is a great guy and grew up fishing the Bay Area. He’s got a comfortable boat and is set up with all the gear.
Thanks Jarhead! Some of the best eating for sure. The fish we caught were in around 45’ of water. We got pretty close to the outside kelp line off Pleasure Point at times. Saw a lot of guys drifting and using live bait but they didn’t seem to be catching any better than us. Supposed to be some WSB around that area too.

Boy, nice fish. You're lucky you got it onboard. Congrats. 🤠👍
Thanks Saw! Not exactly how I like to catch them but a win is a win 👌
Went out and ball-bounced for halibut on Monday. Pretty slow fishing for us but we managed a couple keepers. This one came up foul hooked on the stinger. Happy we got it on board. Super nice day on the water.
It’s channel 9. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries but they do respond.
Thanks for the tips Bapabear! I usually use a copper pipe jig with a swimbait attachment, or something similar out of lead. My plan was to catch some sand dabs and go with live bait, but I went for halibut first and the sharks bit off all my live bait rigs so I switched gears. I’ll try a big swimbait with a proper head and fish it more aggressively 👍 And I wasn’t complaining, I love rockfish for eating but I’m trying to improve my game.
Got a few nice rockfish today in the deep water. Still not catching lingcod though. I prefer to use big jigs to keep the smaller fish from biting, but I just end up catching big rockfish. It’s not a bad problem to have but I really want some lingcod. Anybody want to share your methods for consistent lingcod catching?

I always bleed my fish. Cut the gills and place them in clean water, hope they thrash around a little to get all the blood out. Then repeat the process at least once, 5-10 minutes. Immediately after place them in an ice/water slurry and keep them ice cold. For minimal effort the quality is much better.
Very nice!! Looks like night jigging. I’m scheduled on the Excel for a 3 day in about a month.
That sounds like a lot of fun Ranger. I’ve never been up there but it looks like a special place.
