Jack, a handsome man, walked into a sports bar around 9:58 pm. He sat down next to this blonde at the bar and stared up at the TV as the 10:00 news came on. The news crew was covering a story of a man on a ledge of a large building preparing to jump.

The blonde looked at Jack and said, "Do you think he'll jump?"

Jack says, "You know what, I bet he will." The blonde replied, "Well, I bet he won't." Jack placed $30 on the bar and said, "You're on!"

Just as the blonde placed her money on the bar, the guy did a swan dive off of the building, falling to his death. The blonde was very upset and handed her $30 to Jack, saying, "Fair's fair... Here's your money."

Jack replied, "I can't take your money, I saw this earlier on the 5 o'clock news and knew he would jump."

The blonde replies, "I did too; but I didn't think he'd do it again."

Jack took the money.

Try Bloodydecks.com if your interested in a forum made up of private fishermen mostly in their own boats posting daily reports and stories of personal experiences. You won't find landing totals or commercial boat hauls like you will on 976 tuna but there's a lot of good info for the local and off shore fishermen. I have a 22' and go out of San Diego, San Pedro and Mission Bay. I'm retired and like to go out during the week and avoid the clusterfks. More often than not, I end up going solo. PM me if you'd be interested in going out. I'm not commercial or a licensed guide. Just a private boat owner so a 50/50 split on expenses (gas and bait) would make me happy. Oh and my hat's off to anyone going after BFT with 40lb

Yes you can Ranger. Several rules to follow there like: must use barb-less hooks, can't use any kind of live bait, can't use scents, can't keep any cut-throat between 20" and 24", the use of down-riggers is prohibited during certain months, limit is 2 fish per day: either two less than 20" or one over 24" and one under 20"... Use caution if you launch a boat. The wind can come up fast and create some pretty brutal conditions. Several boats have ended up at the bottom of that lake over the years.

Follow this link... https://www.socalfishreports.com/ then at the top left side of your screen click once on "Fish Reports" for a drop down menu. Scroll down to Fresh water reports and click on it. You'll find a daily report on both lakes you mentioned as well as every other lake and river body in Southern California.
The reports aren't too detailed but there's enough info in them to help you decide on whether or not to go.

Fairly slow right now. Your best bet would be to drop chicken liver or cut bait along the buoy line in front of the inlet or the dam. It may take all day but that's almost always good for a striper or two

What types of fish can you catch here?

Meadow Lake in Nevada County has been stocked since 1938 with Brook, Rainbow and Lahontan Cutthroat Trout. Large and Small mouth bass are 'catch and release' all year.

My son fishes that lake all the time. He loves it. You might know him - Jason Newton. A few years ago we
caught a 12lb Mack out of there. Thats a nice stringer you got there

That would be the Pilot's Peak strain linegod2k. I was told their growth rate is 3X that of the Lahonton and they are very aggressive.
