If you can stand the sometimes paralyzing cold, a long list of regulations, and a 50% increase
in last year's already high fishing fees, Pyramid Lake is loaded with double-digit Cut-throat trout.
This 15-pounder fell for one of my home-made jigs while l was ladder fishing last week.
CNewton: Just how long are you standing waist deep in that water? Were you just landing that beautiful fish, or were you fishing there for a longer period? I am impressed with both your catch and your tenacity to handle the cold water. Just Sayin...RJS

I'm assuming you mean using a ladder so you can get beyond the shallow water shelf into deeper water?
Nice fish
Holy crow, that’s a pig CN!
Always looking to learn something new. What is ladder fishing? Never heard of it. That is a nice trout, thanks for sharing that photo. You look miserable and happy both at the same time. I know of two pyramid lakes in California. Which one is that? Looks way too rough for me - I'd be on my butt and taking on salt.

Beautiful fish! Congrats and welcome aboard.
My bad. There's a pyramid lake up here by me, but it's in Nevada. I would guess that that's the one you're fishing? Still no clue what ladder fishing is.

Look at his avatar Spirit.
I see that, but how the hell did that ladder get out there in the middle of lake? And if it's not in the middle of the lake, what's the point? Why would you do that? I have been fishing for about 65 years and can't recall ever thinking, gee I wish I were sitting on top of a ladder, think I'll go get one or bring one with me next time. Ladder's just not what I associate with catching fish. Maybe that's why this skunk is hangin around? How tall is that ladder c? Come to think of it, that's the first time I've ever even seen a photo of someone sittin on a ladder and fishin. I've fished all over the damn world and I've seen people fishing with some weird chit, but I've never seen that.

Nice fish. Tough to beat a good pair of waders!
Perhaps your next upgrade will be fishing from a tripod deer stand with a swivel seat so you could cast 360 degrees? 😉
