Try down below Ocoee #1 dam. Water is much cooler and could make for some good fishing. Try fishing from a float tube to cover more water and hot spots.

Fishing is very good at Chester Frost. Lots of places to bank fish, especially near deep water. There are also a couple of fishing piers as well.

One of the best spots for blues is almost in the middle out from the first barge tie ups below where south Chickamauga Creek runs into the river. Another spot is a little up river from the DuPont boat ramp from the bank.

Try fishing below Watts Bar dam but try and find the deepest water so you may have to go further down river

I am new to this forum. I have been catfishing at Watts Bar mear r he powerplant off hwy 68 and Fort louden lake off hwy 444 for the past several years. I am hoping someone can give me some new ideas of where to try catfishing in or around these areas. I am from Sweetwater TN and looking for someplace good to fish within about 30 to 40 miles.
I should add that I am bank fishing

Me, my hubby and son love to catch/release but have not had any luck with catching at the lakes around us. Where do we go and what’s the best bait for our area? We are in NE TN, have tried Watauga & Boone with no luck. Anybody willing to share a prime fishing spot (bank/dock fishing only).

Wilbur lake was an awesome lake for trout! It was in the fall a couple of years ago.

Fishing is good everywhere. Put in at the dam, fish the docks along the shoreline in the same side of the lake as the ramp. Put in at Chester Park and fish anywhere away from other recreational boaters. Put in at Skull Island and fish that area…so many places to fish to mention

Most people use circle hooks in that situation. When you use those, you don't set the hook. When you get a bite you just let the line get tight and the hook slides out to the corner of their mouth as they are swimming off and lodges there instead of in their gut.
not too sure about circle hooks for trout but it would be great to pinch down the barb or use barbless hooks. DON’T attempt to get the hook out…cut the line and release the fish

I have fished at Dale Hollow and Cordell Hull Lake without much success. I have ordered a Hummingbird Fish finder that I hope will help. I've also found that Center Hill Lake is about the same distance, but I have not been there yet. A couple weeks ago at Cordell Hull Lake I caught a small striped bass. I have a Bayliner Capri boat (rather heavy boat) so I cannot fish in shallow water, another reason for the fish finder is for the depth alarm among other things. I love Dale Hollow Lake the best for its size but not knowing how deep it was where I wanted to fish, my 100' boat anker never hits the bottom in a lot of places. I hear it over 600' deep in some places. I mainly fish with spoons, spinners and night crawlers. What can I do to catch more fish? Bass, Trout, Catfish and Bluegill would be nice. My favorite is Trout! I was born and raised in Maine, and I could catch trout hand over fist but here in TN, I suck.
I have fished at Dale Hollow and Cordell Hull Lake... (show quote)

There’s so much trout fishing in your area. Caney Fork below Center Hill and Obed River below Dale Hollow. These are tailgater rivers controlled by generation so best resource is the “Lake info TVA” website. Good 👍 luck tight lines.
