Hey fellas - thank you all for the kind words and well wishes. Several of you have reached out to send prayer or words of encouragement via email or comment sections - thank you. I just hope that this helps a few anglers avoid this painful,
ridiculous, (did I mention painful?) situation. I am happy to report that the swelling has gone down and we're sitting at about 25% of what was max capacity.

Good morning, fellow pome readers. One of our newest members posted a hard to watch video on his email sendout that I believe is worthy of passing on. Particularly to those of us who play in the water. Please take a minute and watch it.

Thank you for sharing this, and when we meet up and fish after I move 'yer way, please pack TWO first aid kits, because I am clearly accident prone... :D

That's scary Mike, and an important warning. Thanks for sharing MF's video with us.
No doubt, and I love that you called me that. LOL

Excellent thread Table. Yep always carry water, band aids and antibiotic cream for those fin pricks.

That is also why I have water in an old Pepsi bottle (32 Oz.) with a couple drops of Clorox in it for washing hands after handling fish and Bait. Also Band Aids, ect. LOL Finally broke down and bought a Fish Gripper. ; )
Really like this idea for after I get back to the truck. How much bleach do you dilute? I want it to be strong enough to kill bacteria but soft enough for a woman.
No. Scratch that.
Strong enough for bacteria, but not so strong it melts my flesh like acid.
Yeah that sounds better.

Good post! A reminder to all outdoor enthusiasts -- there are things out there that can hurt you, make you sick or even kill you if you aren't careful. Here in SW Iowa, they have had green algae outbreaks in recent years...
Good point - I have heard about this - I'm not sure what I got into. Still. I do know that I have fished there before, but this time I had that cut that kept re-opening.
Never again.
Thanks fellas, hope to be back out by Friday - God-willing!
Tight lines.
