Went carping in 83 degree Colonial Lake this evening in the rain 🌧️ without rain gear. Got wet. Only saw one bass fisherman. Saw 2 carp jump. Found another bryozoan. That’s 3 in the past 3 days. Threw out a can of corn for chum, then caught and released 6 bluegills and a musk turtle 🐢 with Bowl and Basket whole kernel corn 🌽 on 12 lb test line. Landed 88 turtles 🐢 this year.

NJ219nands, where can we fish? I looked up Curlis lake and it looks surrounded by private property!
Are there any other open places to fish around there? W wanted to try tomorow th2 12th.

Fished a bunch this last week like three different lakes. I've been to all of them before. Caught em on gigs rubber worms 12inch, swim baits, bullgill pattern, and the frog bite has been good in the morning but evening has been terrible. But all the lakes I'm going to are still a mix of spawners, post spawners and pre spawn. So sometimes it's tough. Go hours with no bites sometimes but seems to me high sun bright is best be ause it's easy to figure out where they r. .... In the shade. So that's when I do my best. Have had the biggest and best early morning. And I lost two monsters one on a frog jumped and threw it at me, and one on a shaky head which might of been personal best. So happy fishing everyone. Enjoy the pics!!!!!!

Nice catching Bigwilly! I've never seen such healthy bass before. What lakes or rivers are you fishing in Nj ?

No, I was never able to free a hand. Really didn’t think of it. His runs were so powerful…. I was worried he’d chew thru the line. I was never sure I’d land him until my hand was in his gill.

Sir, could you please tell us what size hook or lure you were using. And how you were fishing it ? I really would like to come up from south jersey and give it a one in a lifetime shot !
